Hey guys I'm psyched about buying my first Cichla (peacock bass). I'm looking for any recommendations anyone may have about raising this guy. He's pretty young now prob on 2-3". How quickly will he grow and whats the best food for him at this size?
1st Cichla purchase. Any recommendations?

there's a lot of info out there w/ an easy search, but I'll bite.
1-2" per month; feeder guppies, bloodworms, live brine, pellets, etc.

every cichla strain is beautiful.
id go for pellets and prep foods. it makes them slow grower but colorful and the food is not hard to find

Baby cichla are prone to ich. Keep temps 84-86 degrees. This also keeps them active. In the meantime there are tons of info and advice on these forums. When you have the time research as much as you can. The more the better.
