New guy here, got a drip system question.

If I set up a drip system into the tank with an overflow/drain off of the sump, when the power goes off and the tank skims to the bottom of the skimmer box teeth obviously the sump will fill with the excess from the tank. I assume this excess volume will want to just go out the drain for the drip setup. Once the power kicks back on it seems the lack of water that just drained out the overflow will leave me dry sumping. Am I missing something here? Or are you guys just using huge sumps that can deal with this?

The drain for the drip system needs to be high enough in the sump so that when the system starts back up, it won't suck the sump dry. It's ok if the water level is low, as long as the pump doesn't suck air. The drip will fill it back up to proper level.
