just got my 1st ray last night, hes been eating right off the bat feeder fish and bloodworms. im seazing the fish feeding but he wont swallow krill and pellets just spits then out loves blood worms.

anyways now that i got some light on him i notice his under side has little random syst looking things not many but a few in random spots.

is this part of them or does he have something i should look out for.....?

now i cant get any pics of his under side at this minute but i will try and get some of the systs unless someone lets me know if thats just they way rays look.

i dunno much about rays just read the stickeys and some other articles about keeping them but didnt learn to much about the physical body of a ray and what everything does.

the ray is 6 inches i think its a motoro.

I'm no ray expert but he looks perfectly fine to me. IMO you've got a healthy looking stingray but wait for an expert's opinion. ;) He looks to be on the skinny side so try to beef him up.

He is skinny feed him chopped market shrimp earthworms and tilapia. All cut up into bite sized pieces. Feed him as much as he will eat daily and remove leftovers. As for these cyst things. Could be fish lice? Can you see them move? Pics are worth a million words. Try and get.some good pics.

hes only interested in feeder fish and bloodworms... everything else hes just hovering over and spitting out. so im feeding him as much bloodworms as i can right now before i water change.

as for getting pictures of the lil bumps on his under side they look like little tiny whitehead pimpels, i dont belive they are moving, seem to be in the same spot every time he briefly goes up the glass a lil bit and i can see

Keep trying the cut up nightcrawlers they take to those pretty easy. The bumps are probably nothing to be concerned about get a picture when you can but it is probably nothing. It is natural to be a little paranoid with your first ray.

The most important thing is that he is eating for you happy rays won't refuse food

is hikari krill cooked? i thought its frozen live. im about to buy a gang of baby crayfish. i dont think the bloodworms are filling him up

One that size could go through a tablespoon of blackworms a day or more. Key with rays is feed them until they dont want any more and take out the excess until you get them healthy and feeding well. With live blackworms you can leave the extra in the tank until they want to eat. Mine always burrow into the sand until the rays hunt them down.

its really hard for me to get a clear pic of its underside but you can almost make out some of the bumps.

anyone know how unhealthy this ray is?

i think hes fine, hes eating bloodworms and goldfish but im scared to take him off them cause i just want him eating. spits out anything like krill prawns pellets talipa filets i havent tried earth worms yet.

Looks perfectly healthy to me, keep trying different foods earthworms in particular since they are an easy transition from black worms. Just make sure you are removing uneaten food in a timely manner.

I think I see what you are talking about there is one on the right side almost half way between the gills and the edge of his disk that would form a triangle with his mouth and birth mark if that makes any sense. Looks to be nothing
