Hey people,

Noticed an Ich outbreak in one of my grow out tanks.

The tank is 4x2x2 apx 120 Gallon.

I've already raised the temp but the thought of adding salt scares me. So I want to go with the minimum dosage which I've read is 1 tbs per 10g,

Adding 12 tablespoons still seems excessive to me?

So thought I'd post and have this confirmed before I potentially do something fatal.

The tank is stocked with juvenile south american cichlids.

Is 12 table spoons about right?

If yes, how long do I leave it in for before I do a WC and then how often do I re-add more salt.

Thanks in advance

Pete

They'll be fine in my opinion. Cichlids tolerate salt better than other fish. I know how you feel because I have felt that way. But what I did was I did 1 TEAspoon per 5 gals. I think you'll be alright.

na ken, luckily clowns are in the 5x2. fingers crossed that tank isn't infected too, no signs that its present there but i'm monitoring it carefully as the fish in there are much more delicate
