Put food in the tank.

What snails are you planning on getting? They're pretty straight forward as far as care. Just keep water clean and don't over feed.

They are not indestructable and the addition of calcium or calcium rich food will help in shell production and strength.
Other than what has been mentioned^^^ your good to go.

BTW, certain snails require male and female to reproduce...population control.

Calcium in the water is a must. Avoid any copper containing medicines as they will kill your snails. Certain species reproduce very rapidly but usually only when the tank has an imbalance such as over-feeding, excessive algae, etc.

I personally have ramshorn snails and love them since they help reduce the amount of algae I have to clean out of my tanks.

ok. so food in tank and calcium. got it. I really don't know what kind of snail it is. They had it at petsmart for a dollar and my daughter wanted it.

They're dirty - DIRTY. I had mine 3 days before I couldn't stand the sludge and poo. (and they kept escaping because I have no top on the tank they were in)

That being said. They were really cool for the 3 days I had them. Move fairly quick, constantly exploring.

So my advice is: Make sure you have a top on your tank so they don't escape.
