Story so far, bought an 80l jobby but the Rainbow Shark wasn't happy so then I upgraded to a 240l Roma Fluval tank, and bought some ID Sharks, got told they'd grow too big for a 4 foot tank so I invested in an Intex paddling pool! It's all set up and the fish have just been put in.

Ironic thing is the 3 ID sharks (Pangasius Hypophthalmus) are 14 months old and only 4, 5 and 7 inch!!!
Anyway I'm picking up 2 x 2inch Paroon Sharks (Pangasius Sanitwongsei/Dog Eating Catfish) tomorrow so that's where the fun truly starts!

Only running the pond at about 600l until the fish get much bigger. Then I'll head over 1,000 and probably need a bigger pond though most Pangasius owners don't see bigger than 2 foot away from insane sized set-ups.
Biggest challenge will be keeping my Maine Coons away from them!

This is my kitten 'Krum,' he's only 7 months old in this pic!!! He was always jumping into the fish tank.

Your ID sharks might be stunted, and your Paroon Sharks will outgrow them and eat them.. IMO, just stick to ID sharks..

what are going to use for heat getting ready to set up a 1700 gal. pond/pool looking for input

I read to heat a pool or anything basically you need 1 watt per litre but Eheim do thermostats that are 300 watt and are rated for 600-1000l set-ups! They are large but super efficient, I have two. They are cheap as chips as well.
There's also a red hot extraction fan running through the cellar which helps. It goes from 20c to 25c when it's on.
Filtering wise all the online experts say bigger the better but as per usual I disagree, I'm using a Hozelock 2500l pump and 3000 Hozelock cannister. Slightly over-filtering but a smaller set-up should be more efficient than a far larger set-up with an insane flow rate. Despite what online experts say Pangasius prefer slow moving water and still pools.

It's a Maine Coon. He weighs 11lbs but my friends largest male weighs 24lbs. They are the true biggest domestic cat breed and most get pretty huge. World's biggest was 4 foot long and 35lbs but one has grown longer at 48.5 inch long, but it's a lot thinner. Mrs Norris off Harry Potter is one!
