2 200 watt heaters for 180?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It should be fine, though it depends on the temp you want to maintain the tank at as compared to the room temp. Also if you are running a wet/dry sump as your filter.

Bderuck nailed it... if the ambient temp of the room is somewhere close to what you want the tank temp to be the 200w should be good... if the room is cold or you want to keep the tank at a much higher temp you may want to step up to 300w heaters..
several small heaters are a better move than 1 big heater.. if one big heater goes bonkers it can cook the whole tank.. if you have several small heaters and one screws up it wont cook everything

Room temp is good to go but for general knowledge what you mean depends if I run a wet dry? Sorry gonna be first monster tank from a 55g

wetdrys are GREAT places to hide heaters

Try it...if it doesn't get the tank warm enough, add a 3rd. I've got a 200 watt on my 75.

Thanks for the feed hopefully it work in the w/d I like the clean look in tank.

W/Ds are a great place to hide heaters. They are also good at displacing heat so you may need to add more heaters or bump up the wattage.

Well i have 200w was gonna get same kind I guess I'll get a 300w and see if that does the trick if not I'll get another one. Iam into the idea of hiding the heaters now.
