2.5'' green terror just spawned, help!!!

I have 3 2.5'' green terrors and 5 1-1.5' convicts in a 10g (temporary holding tank until my 90g is done cycling). Today I was observing 2 of the green terrors relentlesly attacking the other one, upon closer inspection I noticed that the 2 of them were guarding eggs. I have since removed the 3rd terror and all seems relatively well. my question is once they become free swiming are they large enough to eat crushed flakes as I am too lazy and way too impatient to hatch BBS? I was also unaware that they could spawn at this size as everything I've read says that they don't usually spawn until they hit 3''+ Any help would be appreciated.

lol Jordan, no one told the green terrors that they weren't supposed to spawn until they were a half inch longer..

you might be able to spin the fish flakes in a coffee grinder or mashed em up with a mortar and pestle. when i grow out red jewel fry i feed them decapsulated brine shrimp eggs until they are big enough to eat frozen baby brine shrimp.

LOL. lucky you, they should eat the crushed flakes.
i have a bunch of baby convicts in my community tank (pain in the ass) they eat bits of food that the other fish waste coz im not feading them and the are getting big.

lol It's really my fault, I should have taught them how to read before I introduced them to each other. I understand a half inch isn't much difference, it's just that it was a very unexpected event as I only purchase them 4 days ago and figured I had time to get them settled in my 90g before this happened

Same thing happened to me, mine are now free swimming and still in the tank with the parents and are getting larger from crushed flake.
