I purchased these from a local store that said they would not get larger than 4" - they are now almost 7" and we do not have the tanks to support them. Can anyone provide suggestions on what options we have? We do not want to get larger tanks and at the same time do not want to just give them to others that will not take care of them (use them as food for other fish, etc). Thank you for your help.

If they are Alberti then they are almost fully grown so your choices are keep them, return them to the store or advertise them on here or elsewhere. Alberti are not overly common (as eupterus etc.) so no one should take them as food for something else, so should look after them.
Firstly though you need to be confident that they are Alberti as if they were actually eupterus then you could have another three to five inches of growth to come.

Welcome to the MFK!

Agree with Dave on all points. Let's make sure the ID is correct. You can advertise them here in the MarketPlace forum for free or for sale or reach out to the nearest fish rescue, if there is one. You can also advertise them on Craigslist.

7" is pretty big for Alberti. We had a couple and they didn't break 4" indeed. But post good pictures or a YouTube video and we'll make sure.
