in my 300 i have or had. 4 full sized angels 7-8" with fins. they were in the tank when my silver arow was a 3" baby 18 months ago. the only other predators in the tank are 2 -10" spotted gars. im sure it wasnt the gars.

about a week ago i noticed 1 of my angels missing so i pulled the other 3 out and put them in my 125. but the mating pair was harrasing the 1 single. so until i finished my 30 gal at work i put him back in the 300. everything was fine for a few days then yesterday sometime she came up missing.

my arow has never bothered any fish before except for feeder minnows but id have to say he did it. i highly doubt it was the gars.

btw the arow is 25" .

now im kinda worried about my 5- 6" geos.

Sorry to hear that but since you feed your arowana live feeder fish, there is that slight chance it decided to go up the food chain. Most people try to avoid feeding live things to the arowana for such a reason. Live fish keep the hunting instinct in them active. Maybe your aro got bored and decided to excercise a little =/. If anymore fish go missing, then it's best you start moving the smaller fish out. A 2 foot arowana is huge and makes for the most plausible suspect but you never know unless you actually see it happen. Sometimes it's who you least suspect.

i very rarely feed him feeders anymore since the gars are eating pellets and shrimp. maybe he misses the chase. i usually feed arow sticks everyday and krill, raw shrimp or silversides a few times a week.

Sorry for your loss.

Unfortunately that is a risk you take with arowana and smaller fish. I have been fortunate as of late, I keep many fish with my 2 silvers and 2 blacks that could become a meal. Even have two large silver angels as you did.

Have you ever posted pics of your aro and set up?
