Just wondering it if would be possible to keep two black arowanas in a 240 with a RTGG.

I cant decide wich 240 to get so here are the dimensions.

240-6 Gal. Tall 72 x 24 x 31

240 -5 wide 60 x 36 x 25 tall

240 wide 72 x 30 x 25 tall

Thanks for your input!

the longuest... :D the GG will outgrow and outstrong the aros at the biggining, or have you allready had them together for long?

I would go with the 240 wide...definitely go with the wider foot print with 2 Black Arowanas in there.

Middle one.

Well for the tank sizes you stated the 72 x 30 x 25 would be the best. I would go with a 96 x 24 x 24 though. Black/silver aros like to constantly swim to me they need a long tank more then a wide tank. Personally I beleive a 30" aro would be happier in a 96 x 24 than a 72 x 30, it would get to swin farther without turning and the 24" would provide more then enough room for turning around.

What happened to your plans for the 180 with an upgrade to a 375? If you are still planning the upgrade I would then go with the 72 x 24 x 31, with that you could do some spectacular aquascaping.

i agree with the whole wide vs. tall.. go wide and the blacks will definetly love you for it.. lucky, i want a black too but dont got the tank size yet..

yup i'll go with width rather than lenth of the tank so the fish can turn. but....if u can have both...it'll be nice:)

here comes the dreams again.

get whatever tank you can. either way it'll be happier then it was at the lfs. i prefer long tanks. so i'd go with a standard 8x2x2 especially since its a black. 4yrs or so b4 it hits 26" mark and 2ft turning area is plenty as its not a solid stick when it turns around.
