I currently have a 13" black aro right now, great health and very docile.

I am considering on adding 1 more black and 2 more silvers, all will be aprroximately the same size.

Tankmate:

1 5" Thin bar dat
2 5" Fei Fengs
1 6" Tigrinus
1 7" Juruense
2 Atabapo Pikes
1 Lenti Pike

Would this combo work ? I understand that every situation is different. I am simply asking for opinion and experiences..

Will I be better off adding 1 more and make it 5 aro ? if so, should I go with another silver, black or Lei (Lei is hard to come by in my area)

In a 240? Waaayyy overstocked IMO especially with all those other fish you have in there.... some are potential beasts like your tiger shovel nose.

Bigger tank? Within 6-8 months the two 13" silvers would be at least 24" and very bulky. The blacks would be considerably smaller at 18-20". So to have 4 Arowana this size in a 240g would create quite a cramped situation, not to mention the other fish you have. I would think that you would need at least a 96" x 48" x 30" to house this many monsters.

You can always keep them together to find out if it will work. No one can give you a sure answer for this kinda question usually.

Another thing what alot have mentioned, ya.. the tank will be too crampy. And crampy tank need alot of attention regarding filtration and water quality. Let alone the space for them to swim.

They won't be going into the 240...more like a 600 gallon :)

I will be taking the 240 down to do different setup. I am going to get the aros and their tankmates to at least 15-16" before moving everyone in te new tank.

The TSN, Gar, BP's an Gar will be on a different tank

If thats the case then it should be fine.

Silvers aren't that aggressive really. I would think mixing silver aros together would be less aggression than a cichlid tank by far.

I think you would be best giving the blacks a head start though since they aren't going to grow as big or as fast as the silvers. But other than that, 600 gallons sounds great.

You won't know if the combination will work until you try it, silvers can be very violent with one another, killing each other rather quickly. It took me 3 different atemts to get a pair of aros to cohabitate.
