well....i talked to this guy about an extra tank he had in his garage...it was a 180 he wanted to sell for $500...i didn't necessarily want to spend 500 and he wasn't budging. i noticed he had a 55 wide and asked how much he would sell that for. he replied that he had that on craigslist for 40 bucks. i offered him 20 and he took it! so, i got a 55 gal, small otb filter a few decorations and the red belly piranha that he didn't have any room in other tanks for...i didn't get a hood, heater, lights or a decent filter to keep the piranha in good condition so i stopped at the lfs (brother's pets) and got $18 store credit for the p. after all is said and done, my $2 cOmeUp.

Nice pick up, such a bargain. For a stand, cinder blocks are cheap and make a very sturdy stand. Not sure that using the plastic totes for a stand is a good idea.

right on...i'm working on that right now. should have a stand by next weekend. probably wont do anything in the new tank for at least a month. it'll more than likely end up a guppy breeder/planted tank.

Thats a 50 gallon breeder bro not a 55 gallon. Still GREAT tanks to have even better than a 55 gallon. Hell a 40 gallon breeder is better than a 55 gallon. I can get 50 gallon breeders for $25 but with nothing just the glass. A guy is selling 25 of them for $25 bucks each.

nice. i'd pick them up just to make some change on the ones i didn't want. i knew it wasn't a 55. he was dead set on 55 gals. either way...i came out on top.
