Sep 9th-11th
We had this DWRRC charter in the books and as the trip got closer and the tuna bit better Captain Mike wanted to get out of the dock at 6pm to be at the hidden bank before sun up. All the guys couldn"t be happier and ready! The last angler got to the dock few min after 6 and we were off to make to 100+ mile run to the Hidden.
We made great time with the swell pushing us the whole way there and and we approached the bank we could see the fleet. At 4 in the morning there were 35-40 boats. We started sniffing around for a meter mark to set up on away from the fleet. Found a good one but it didn't produced anything and after 45 min it started to get grey and we were on the hunt.
First mark after turned into a 37 fish stop. It got a little chaotic for a while and we sat on this meter mark with fish boiling around us until 9:30. When the dust settled I had 8 fish. One yellowfin and 7 bluefin. All caught on 25lb test.
45 min later another stop gave out 12 more fish. I had 2.
Then the trolling marathon started. We all know this drill.....
Trolled for a few hours and made a few stops but no fish were caught. We were still excited for our 49 fish at the time and I was on cloud nine for having 10 of them.
Then we found a huge kelp and it was game on. It took a little for the fish to get with it. But Mike said we are not leaving this mark it is too good!
One biter, two biter, fresh! Game on bluefin started coming over the rail. My friend Charlie got HOT by putting on 4 fish with 4 consecutive casts, Chris got hot by putting on 8 fish including our jackpot fish 38lb bluefin. And I put on 5 more. The fish really got eager, lots of big boils around the boat at the end I got a few of them to eat 40lb test.
This spot gave us 51 fish to put us at an even 100. It was getting dark and we left them biting! Oh and to the private boater who was fishing super ****ing close to the stern of the Amigo.... Your welcome for all the fish you caught in our chum line! But you were to close.
Since we were so far from home and it was a two day we decided to head up to clemente for our second day. We caught bass.
I gave away 10 fish away to guys who didnt catch as many and could put them to good use. Came home with one gilled and gutted for the sushi bar and 4 bluefin for myself.
My dad and brother left Sunday on a 5 day on the Islander. I think we will be stocked up for a while on tuna.
Enjoy the pics.

I called my buddy who own a sushi bar and got it all dialed in. I dropped off a 25lb bluefin gilled and gutted and said we are coming back in a few hours. So myself, my fiance and 2 buddies had all you could eat bluefin last night! Along with quite a few beers
