I'm looking for 2 kinds of loaches to go in my 100gal. The Spotted Hillstream Loach (Gastromyzon Punctulatus), and the Goldring Butterfly Sucker/ Lined Finsucker(Sewellia Lineolata). First are they allowed in FL, how many to a school, what type of water temps. will they do well in, and if I can get them I do plan on getting the power head so that they will have a steady stream of water to swim against. My main question is the water temp., what happens in the event the water gets to warm from the loaches normal temp.?

I don't think they are illegal or banned in Florida. Bear in mind these are riverine species and will not tolerate temperature above 76 degrees Fahrenheit. Florida is warm there, isn't it? Then they don't stand a chance to survive the climate hence I see no reason for them to be banned or restricted. Keep your temperature steady at 74 degrees.

As far as the temperature is concerned, higher temp depletes oxygen level. The fish turns abnormally dark in coloration and eventually dies. This must be avoided at all costs.

A powerhead alone does not suffice. Have a read with this. I've done this on two of my tanks.
