Hello everyone,
After a long venture away from salt to pursue breeding cichlids, I have fell back into it all over again.

My ? is, can i have a flame angle and a coral beauty in the same tank. If so what would i need to do to ensure the best chances of this working. If not, what/if any/ other dwarf angle can i mix with a flame angle. I have to have the flame angle as per my wife and daughter, but i would like another to go with it if possible. Obviously two flames is out of the question, but maybe there is another that will work.

The tank is a 75gallon 4' long 18" wide

At the moment my:
ph is 8.2
ammonia 0.0
nitirtes 0.0
nitrate 15ppm
phosphate .3
temp is 79*F
50lbs live rock
80lbs of live sand

current tank inhabitants are:
flame hawk
purple psuedochromis
percula clown
lawnmower blenny

Corals include:
some zoa pallups
some type of branching leather
and some blue and green mushrooms

I would not try it in a system of this size. If the tank was 6 feet long or longer I think it would be possible, but in your setup you will most likely end up having to "fish" out one of them. Not worth the risk to me.

Yea...might want to do it now, if you dont care if one or the other dies, you can keep the experiment running.

Just be ready to do an evac if you see that one is going to get killed for sure.

Thanks for the info. I was affriad it wouldn't work, and being that this is my only salt tank, I felt better about asking the question before i just tried it and found out the hard way.
Again, thank you

x2. I did keep 2 cherub angels in a tank together. Trick is to introduce both to the main tank at the same time.

If your tank was a little bigger, and they were introduced at the same time they would be fine. My 5 foot system has a coral beauty and a bicolor angel in it, and even though the bicolor was nippy the first day, they settled down after that.

x2. Thinking of doing coral beauty and flame angel in my 125. In my opinion, a big tank can solve alot of the compatibility issues (within reason)

Well i have a 125 gallon, but the fish in my avitar lives there:D. So i guess i'll just have a flame angel.
