I use 2x AC 110s (slightly more powerful than an Emp 400) for 55 & 75 gal tanks and am very happy with this approach...

Too much filtration? There's no such thing. Go with it.

theres no such thing as too much filtration unless your fish are beign washed around

Guess it would be over kill if all you had were a few juveniles, but then again, they do grow.
4 bio wheels churnin away should keep the O2 levels in the positive column.
8 gunk trapping pads should put a sparkle too the water.
All the way around, sounds like a good choice to me.

Your good, I had one ac110 and a FX5 on a 55g once.

Now the are on my 75g.
