2" Fahaka Puffer & 3 Week Vacation

Hay Fish Folks,

I have a 2" Fahaka in a 75 with 8-10 Congo Tetras. Puffer is eating Bladder, Ramshorn Snails, as well as frozen bloods and live black worms. Has received 2 rounds of Prazipro. .. Just started taking frozen shrimp cuttings. I have 5 other tanks I will put on very minimal auto feeders, any ideas about vacation feeding..?

Do you have anyone that can continue to feed him?
He probably wouldn’t at this size, but if he gets too hungry, Congos are on the menu (or they may turn on the puffer).
With their fast metabolism I wouldn’t want to go more than a few days without feeding my puffers.

At that size he has to eat every day or every other day I'd say. Mine is almost 10" and almost 10 years old - I know he could go about a week without being fed but I wouldn't want to push it any further than that. Just my experience tho.

I agree, best if possible to get someone to feed your puffer while away...

you can setup the meal prep by having individual baggies for each meal placed in the freezer or something so whoever is feeding your fish just has to defrost and place food in the tank to prevent over feeding...

otherwise you could try loading the tank with loads of snails but i dont know how well that would work tbh over a period of 3 weeks...

My experience is NEVER get anyone to feed your fish. I would say get one of those pill supplements for each individual day, and put whatever in their. Then let someone feed em.
