Hello all,
I have a RD FH in a 75 and he is by far my favorite fish. He is extremely healthy and happy. I recently changed out the pool filter sand in his 75 to black diamond and the difference is astounding. Question is, could I add another FH to the 75 with divider of course. Will this have any negative impacts on him? The filtration is superb and I do water changes every other day so I'm not too concerned with that aspect. I just want to make sure I'm not making a mistake. I understand his kok will grow larger with another male around. At this point, I'd even be willing to add a female if experience says that this is a better route than 2 males. Any and all feedback and greatly appreciated. Thank you, Manny

Morally some people dont like to put another fish in for a flowerhorn to exercise dominance over but I have put a parrot with mine and eventually they became friendly to a point where the parrot would follow the flowerhorn around on occasion. Its hit or miss but this method would allow your FH to enjoy all 75 gallons and would surely be better for him. ofcourse you could split and get another male but just know thats limiting them to 37g each.

Yes that's exactly it, knowing that he'll have less space to live in is what gets the best of me and this is why I haven't done it. I know it's a 50/50, however I was hoping that possibly a female would be ok

Yeah... male gets 80 female gets 20, that'll work.
