I bought it a month ago, I have large terra cotta hides for it and large driftwood hides as well. I've offered shrimp, tilapia, red wigglers, night crawlers, various other worms, etc. He'll show interest, look at it, maybe even rub his nose sensory organ on it and then pull back into his hide, leaving it for another fish.
Parameters are all good, tank cycled, temps good. 7' 210 gallon. Tank mates are all smaller by at least a foot. 1' rtgg, 6" oscar, two 10" walking catfish, 1' ghost knife, 1' six bar distichodus, and a 6" flagtail. The catfish put all their aggression into eachother. The rtgg and oscar put all their aggression into the six bar. Flagtail and knife are peaceful.
Is it simply too rowdy in there for my eel to feel comfortable or could there be something else?
