Hey guys, so I just got my new 125 cycled and need some ideas of what to put in it. The tank has great filtration and can handle any fish that will live comfortably in the tank. I want a fish that is big, impressive, and a "wet pet". I know the first thing that comes to mind is probably a oscar but I would like something that is more uncommon, maybe something like a jaguar? Only 2 fish of the same species will be in the tank, hopefully when they get mature they will breed. Thanks in advance guys.

I think a smaller jaguar pair would work. You could also try a flowerhorn maybe. The main thing is if it is the standard 17.5" wide you may have issues with some of the larger fish being able to turn right. I would stick to a fish that gets around 13" max.

If you are interested in the parachromis species, look at the loiselle or friedrichshtalii. Both fish are stunning and get to around 12" which would be a much more manageable size for a pair in a 125. Six juvies is a good number to start out with when looking to pair cichlids off, and since they will breed at a relatively small sizes you should be able to identify pairs fairly quickly.
