2 for one arowana and oscar fish question?

I have always fed my fish pellets with a mixture of live foods but in the few months I've had my silver arowana he will only eat live foods he is 9 or 10 inches long and I have already tried starving him for four days and he still won't eat the pellets! How can I train him to eat pellets/ food sticks I have three bags of pellets/food sticks all by the brand hikari one is the cichlid gold bag(red bag) one is the cichlid staple bag (green bag ) and the other is jumbo carnivore sticks (white bag)and also how can I get my oscar to eat more pellets he used to only eat pellets when he was younger but he is 13 inches now and he mainly likes frozen bloodworms or beef heart or mysis shrimp he will only eat 5 or so pellets every couple days how can I get him to eat more

i also had this problem once. my oscar didnt want to eat pellets not even one. i only fed it live shrimps just like it likes. i just do this method. it did just fine and grew to about 5 inches. but i think pellets are needed to supply useful nutrients. it's just tht i dont use them. as they wont eat it, it would just end up contaminating ure water.
