Hi. I have an 8x2x2 tank with a 17 inch mini marble ray, 4 silver dollars, 2 x 7 inch red head cichlids, a 5 inch lemon oscar, 8 inch ghost knife, and a 5 inch bichir. Are my two fx6 filters enough for my tank?

I would think with that bioload the better question would be how frequently are you doing water changes. Canister filters will keep the water clarity up and I think two FX6 are good but they do not remove the nitrates.

I do a 33% every four days. But at least once a fortnight I do a 40-50% one. I’m very conscious of my water with having my pregnant stingray. My water is fine. But a couple of people have told me it’s not good enough filtration which makes me question myself.

I would definitley agree with everyone. as long as you are doing enough water changes to keep up with stingray bioload, you will be getting enough turnover on a 240 gallon with 2 fx6 filters.

My bio load is pretty much just the ray now. She’s eaten everything. Never known anything like her. She’s mega friendly with people. Just hates every other fish. So yeah, she is the bio load. Haha.

What happened to the rest of the fish in your first post?
