Super dark.. doesn't look to healthy but based on color alone I would say female.

thanks for the info... it is the second smallest fish in tank, being an 1" to 1.5" smaller then three other tank mates, at times it spends a lot of time on the move, but, is growing super fast, the base body color does swing at different times...
Is it really this dark in person or is it just the lighting?
It looks very, very stressed.
I honestly can't guess at gender. Going off the dark color I'd say female. But that's only because I've seen my girl get dark when she is angry/stressed. My boy has never gotten even close to that dark.

My females have also gotten this dark when angry/stressed/ or spawning (I can say that now!).
But honestly I think 2" is too early to tell, especially if you have no other GT's present to compare it to.
If you had a group of them you may be able to say this is this and that is that - I couldn't, I'm no good at it at that size, but there are more experienced people here who could.
