I have 2 Jack Dempsey cichlids. Cute lil fellas, there use to be a gang of 3 (appropriately named One, Two and Three). One died after I isolated him into my 55gallon tank, since he did not let Two or Three eat. Any ideas why? (water quality was - pH 6.8, Nitites and Ammonia at 0.0 ppm, temp. at 80 degs.) One lasted a total of 35 mins. before he kicked it.

Now I have Two and Three, they are about the same size (1.25"). Will they stress each other out? Should I seperate them or get others to spread out the harrasment?

What other fish were in the 55? What were the water parameters of the original tank? I'm guessing other fish did him in or he died of shock from fluctuations such as temperature or pH or something along those lines.

Are the other 2 constantly chasing each other around? I had 2 jacks like that and now I only have one. (small one in my sig is new) What size tank do you have, you can get some target fish like silver dollars or giant danios to spread out aggression.
