Hey guys I was wondering if 2 full grown jags and a 12 in peco is good for a 100 gallon tank and if the 2 Jags breed will they kill my pleco? The pleco and the Female Jag has been living together for 4 years and I am just now thinking of introducing a male jag.

Can be possible but i know my male jag decided to kill the pleco he lived with when he tried to spawn my female dovii. As long as he can get away and hide should be fine. It may take u a few males before u get a compatible one for youe female my male for example is too aggressive to breed. Make shure if male is larger give her somewhere to hide from him if need be.

It really isn't big enough for a pair of jags. Even if it is a 6' 100 these are big powerful cichlids and if they turn on each other one or the other is going to need a place to retreat and it really isn't enough room. I would upgrade to a bigger tank first if it were me. If it were a formed and bonded pair you may get away with it short term but that is it.

So what size would u guys recommend? I have a line on a 300 gallon. Would that be to much?

I can not see them bothering the pleco. If the pleco tries and bother the eggs they will nip at him and he will swim away. My Jags breed all the time and the do not bother even my small plecos.
