I just purchased 2 x 48” aqueous optibright max lighting fixtures. I was wondering if it would be possible to buy a power adaptor splitter and run both fixtures off one power supply? I’m trying to cut down on the number of things plugged into the power bar.

I believe the power adaptor box for each fixture is 120v.

I can post pictures if needed.

Power splitter in what sense? Like multiple plugs in one socket or running both power supplies from one plug?

Not quite

so picture one is a typical ballast power supply. I want to purchase picture two and attach it to the red circled part in picture one so both ballasts are running off one plug in.
Does that even make sense? Lol

I don't think you can run those 2 LED fixtures off of only one of the included power supplies with the units you bought because the wattage/amperage wouldn't be sufficient.

Any chance you can post a clear picture of the label info that lists the output voltage, amperage or wattage on the Aqueon fixture you bought?

It is possible but like D deeda said. Amazon have higher amperage power supplies but with what’s its worth, another power strip/surge protector might be a better route! Just my 2 cents.

Here is the adaptor I was planning to use.

Nikki, is that the power supply that came with the Aqueon Optibright Max light fixture?

The picture where I am holding the power supply is the one that came with the light fixture.
The first set of pics are just from google.

Thanks for the clarification!

I think but am not positive that you would need a power supply that has an Output: DC15V with at least 8A maybe even 10A at least according to my boyfriend that figured out which power supply we needed for our DIY LED light strips for our fish room.

You would also have to make sure the plug connector on the new power supply you purchase would match up with your light fixture plug connector.

Honestly it would probably just be cheaper to buy a longer power strip to accommodate all the equipment you are using or even use a 3-to-1plug adapter that would use just one plug slot on your power strip.

Yea that is kind of what I thought. I didn’t expect this power supply to support two light strips but wanted to ask people with more knowledge on amperage/Volts etc hahaha

I’m clueless when it comes to electronics/electrical things
