I have questions..

Hello everyone. I have a 10" male JK Flowerhorn and a 5" male SRT showing breeding signs. I also have a carpintis that is trying very hard to get with the SRT, but the JK will not let her get close.

It amazes me that this is happening. Especially since my JK is CRAZY aggressive and kills everything in it's path. Seriously, he's hella crazy!Oh, and that they are 2 dudes.... He guards the SRT like it's his baby. They have taken over half of the tank.

Questions;

-Why are they doing this?
-Aren't they male?
-Shouldn't they find means of satisfaction elsewhere?
-Has anyone every seen this?

I am serious about this. Someone with some incite, please help. No one has replied to my questions in my prior thread in the video lounge area.

also, I took pics of their tubes if you aren't sure of sex.

Wow thats pretty funny if they are both males, I didnt see the pics of their tubes but that tube is looking pretty thick on the SRT for a male. That SRT is doing a lot of prep work for some *** love otherwise.

They have completely scooped out all of the gravel under the pot now.

Lol the title of this thread is just wrong. I guess your tank is a prison and the SRT is doing what he has to survive on "the inside."

For those of you who are wondering, The SRT has found my Carpintis and they are making a separate nest beside the pot. The SRT now goes back and forth between the Flowerhorn and the Carpintis. I am moving the SRT and the Carp into their own 300 gallon tomorrow to boom boom with some room room.

Also, can anyone recommend a good Hybrid community website?

I tried already. I am horrible at getting close ups with my camera. I use a Nikon coolpix 8700. And I am horrible with it.
Plus, I have moved the SRT and the Carpintis into their own 300
already. I feel bad for my Flowerhorn. For the first time it seemed
like he was happy....
