2 month old 28g nano.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
good looking tank. Looks like some candy canes, torch, and zoos.

....and palys.

Not sure of plan yet. As far as next corals. Maybe a few more polyps or Lps. I have 2 clowns , 1 algae blenny and 1 gester goby. Maybe 1 more active fish and a cleaner shrimp and then done. I upgraded my skimmer to a aqua c but didn't install it yet. I didn't like the jbj nano skimmer to much.

nice looking nano:) what kind of anenome is in the first pic?

seems mr.lawnmower has cleaned up nicely, I don't see a speck of algae. Good stuff I like it, I mite just set up a nano because of this.

i wish i went a little bigger. but i didnt want to spend a ton of money on first saltwater tank. i wouldve liked to buy the redsea max 250. 65gal..

i was thinking down the road converting my 125 to salt , i already have everthing i need except for fuge and skimmer. lighting is good for softies or lps. 400w cf. still looking at a good chunk of money for rock, sand, corals, fish ect.. maybe next year.

Nice tank, I just ordered the same tank online and will be setting up my first saltwater tank when I get back home from this deployment.. What don't you like about the JBJ skimmer? I bought it so hopefully it will work for me..

the jbj skimmer works ok. there are a few things i dont like.

1) to open the top u have to remove the skimmer top.
2) everytime u remove the skimmer top to empty skimmate u have to set up the skimmer height.
3) the air pump is kinda noisey
4) u need to replace the air stone every few months. not a big issue.
5) water level has a large effect on skimmate consistancy.

i purchaced an aqua c hob skimmer with a maxjet 1200 pump to replace the jbj. i havent had a chance to set it up yet but im sure it will be much better.

the jbj skimmer for the most part does its job but i definately wouldnt considered it to be "high end"
