they were sent on a flight yesterday and were supped to be here yesterday at 6pm. instead, the flight was redirected to toronto due to a thunderstorm here in ottawa. so they stayed over night in toronto and arrived here in ottawa today at 8am. they are both eatting and seem to be pretty happy in their new home. one of them lets me hand feed him, though they are still very shy. i just snapped a quick picture of the one. they are roughly 4 1/2 inches. one is just a little bit bigger then the other

I put a bunch of small guppies in and I can't tell if they have ate any yet or not. I also do bloodworms 3-4 times a day. I'm trying to find blackworms around Ottawa here but I haven't found any yet. I'll be getting shrimp and talapia soon too

I had two small retics once that only ate bloodworms. They were aggressive eaters but wouldn't touch anything else. Every feeding I would take two blocks of bloodworms and pellets in a cup and add tank water and let them soak until the bloodworms melted. It only took a few wks and I had one eating pellets. I sold the pair before I got the other one eating but it didn't take long

Congratulation on the new pick ups.

You can always have the black worms shipped to you if need be. Or cut up small nightcrawlers will usually work.

blackworms over bloodworms anyday. once they're a little bigger and can eat cut up nightcrawlers, go for it. the nutritional value of a nightcrawler compared to black/bloodworms is a huge difference.

just beware, most retics are finicky eaters and worms can be damned near an addiction for them, so when it comes time to wean them onto other foods, it becomes a chore and a half.
