Nothing exotic but I think my 20g looks so much better, especially with the addition of the bogwood. The one thing I need to know is what kind of African Cichlid these are? They were in a tank labeled "mixed african cichlids" so what is the common name for these little dudes??
Additions to the 55g:
2x African Cichlids
Additions to the 20g:
2x female beta - love them
Plants:
1x echinodorus bleheri - I read both of the plants are good for beginners so that should work out for me, and that they don't need any special attention.
1x anachris
1x bogwood - and the fish love it ...
another thing which I have been hesitant to share
... the reason I added the african cichlids is because I am considering removing the SB pink cons I have. The reason for that is one of them has been acting strange now for a while like 5-6 months. By that I mean he lays on his side a lot ..most of the day. I have done several things to eliminate the possibilities.
I have tried:
Parasite med
Salt & raising temp
water changes are done every Sunday 13-15gal, 1/2 every 3 wks
Amonia was the least possible on the scale
What makes this situation even more odd is that he eats along with everyone else, he has even been a little more active but just for a few seconds at a time. The lfs attendent said something about it possible being his swim blatter, I'm not sure what that means. I'm considering removing the other one because he acts in this same manner only sometimes.. Keep in mind everyone else is fine, swimming actively and eating like little pigs. It makes me sad to look at him like that... and I don't know how else to help them. There is one thing I noticed today as I was inspecting him.. a darker pinkish area along the bottom of his top fin.. and it looked a little puffy and slimey.. that's the best way I can explain it..
