2 new tanks! :)

Ok, so I just drove an hour this morning for a 55 gallon, used for 2 months, tank. It has filters and lights/hood, and I only paid $50 for it.

Tomorrow I will be picking a 30 gallon with stand and canopy filters etc for $40.

Best deals I have come across in a loooooong time.

But now that I have the fish I wanted (Jack Dempsey) I don't know what exactly I should look into.

My husband seen this baby Alligator Gar at the LFS that he likes, but I just am not feeling them. I would love to have some Red Bellied Piranhas, but They get pretty big, and I only really like them when they are smaller.

I love getting small fish, because them I can watch them grow, so any fish I would put in will be small. In the 2'' range.

Maybe an ornate Bichir?
Black Ghost Knife Fish?
African Butterfly Fish?
Datnoid Grow out tank?

The 30 gallon will be for a breeding/fry/growout tank. Or maybe if we get into a fish that needs live food, we will keep the food in there.

Any suggestions?

All the fish you mentioned except the butterfly would get to big for a 55 do you have a bigger tank to put them in when they out grow that.

Yeah, I have a bigger tank.

will go into a 75 gallon, and then a 300-400 gallon.
