I currently have 2 Pbass 4/6" in 65gal till they get a little bigger and they will go in 180, maybe 320...
A friend is thinking od selling 2 Red bellies w/alot of gold flake coloration (they are a beauty) He is not in a hurry to sell but he offered them to me. SO I would not pick them up till I have the 180/320 set-up.
What do you guys think to have them as tankmates w/my Pbass?
The tank would just be for the 4 of them and maybe a RTC.
All of the fish are the same size right now.
Thanks.

i've seen a vid on youtube with a bunch of pbass and piranhas in the same tank. it was pretty sweet, but you will probably need to keep them very well fed to keep them from turning on each other

It would really depend on the p's. Some species of p's are more aggressive than others. I'd research more into the species of p before putting them in with your pbass. Its very possible that it will indeed work out, and will probably look very awesome. You would definately have to keep them well fed, and possibly a seperate tank in case things turn nasty quick. They live together in the wild, so really I don't see why not.

if you do try,
make sure theyre really really really well fed.
but the pbass may end up growing out the Ps and eat them.

Didnt you posted this in the piranha forum already?

No matter how many times on the forum you try to post, the answer will still going to be the same...

A big fat "NO"! :D

In the wild, they can run, but in a 65G or 180G... no where to go.. a quick turn and BAM onto the glass...

so imo its a NO!

Thats like saying of keeping a human in the same cage as the lion, they both live together in Africa

i love folks that keep asking the same question over and over till they get the answer they want. doesn't matter what the facts are.

Mixing any kind of aggressive fish is a risk. Who can guarantee compatability? No one.

:iagree: I deal with questions like this everyday. When you say NO you get this one said this and that and my friend did this, ect, ect. So I always say it's your money do what you want. So Jdamian YEAH! IT'LL WORK JUST DO WHAT YOU WANT!

LOL Thanks guys, I think I will just keep the PBass by themselves and hold off on the P's. If I feel like really getting them I will get a new tank.
