Hi! Currently I have a medium sized oscar maybe 3-4" and a baby pleco. My friend wanted to rehome her pleco so I will be getting him tomorrow and he is huge! Just wondering if the new pleco would be okay with the baby pleco? The baby pleco stays out of the oscars way, the oscar tends to run him off but he doesn't seem bothered. I'm sure the new pleco will be fine but, just wondering what I need to do to get ready for it. Also, I never see my pleco eat... do I need to over feed to make sure the pleco eats? My Oscar eats the algae pellets I put in for him even when the lights are off.

Tank size matters. What is the intended aquarium size? Also, you could slide food down a tube to get it to the Pleco.
55 gallon it's intended to be a grow out. The larger pleco is coming from a tank that had 3 oscars and 2 other cichlids in a 50 gallon so I feel he will fit in fine for now.

take a Zucchini and slice it lengthwise and cut it into 3" pieces then rubberband them to a rock with the fleshy inside/seeds facing upward. Plecos will go crazy for it

I've feed him cucumber before saw him munching on it forgot to add that but, how often should I do this? That's the only thing I've ever seen him eat.

You may have to buy a larger algae wafer. Is the room ever totally dark at any time? If so I suggest placing the food for the Pleco at that time. I personally would restrain from getting the larger Pleco at this time.

I do it once a week for the 2 tanks that I have herbivore/omnivore fish, but I do cucumber as well, and they eat it, but not like they DESTROY the zucchini

In my own experience introducing 2 plecos together is better the smaller they are. Since your bringing in a bigger one from outside there could be some fighting. My guess is the bigger one will end up winning.

Good Luck.
