ok i plan on buying a ne pleco and its bigger then my current pleco, would my smaller pleco be ok or would i need to move him to a smaller tank? i would like to keep all my fish together but if this is ganna be an issue ill do whatever it takes for my fish to be safe

ok i thought i should check in before i went and make a big mistake

if they are common plecs they get really bug really fats as you should know and 2 1 1/2 foot long plecs can look very out of place in a 55 gal or less

I've also found that whenever I have kept more than one common pleco in a tank, sooner or later I end up with just one . . . I don't know if it's pleco-on-pleco violence, or if one out-compete the other for food, but one way or another . . . I end up with just one pleco

I have only had this with common plecos; my smaller plecos seem to get along just fine . . .

i have 1 hi fin pleco, 1 common, and 2 rubber lip. They all do fine but i have seen a friends two 1.5 foot plecos fighting. I havent had any problems personally though.

well i am going to petco tomorrow to kinda re-amp my tank stock, and get some small things to restock my 30 gal tall via filtration, air bar-stone, back-drop, etc. so i was thinking of getting a second pleco for my big tank which already has a 7-8" common pleco in it and the second pleco would have been around 13-14" so maybe i should shy away from that and go with a different breed of pleco, what do you guys and gals think?
