The temperature here is going to be around 75 during the night and 50 at night when I am sending out some fish overnight.

1. Do I need heat packs? I bought some hand warmers for only .99. It says on the package they get 146 degrees. Should I use a pack of these in the styrofoam box?

2.Is a tranquilizer really necessary (like bag buddies)? My lfs will be filling the bag with pure O2.

Thanks for the advice!

Hey eric, the last two months or so I have received fish with no heat pack here. The ones I did recieved with heat packs, the packs was wrapped in news paper and taped to the top of the Styrofoam. there was also some newspaper in between the top of the bag, where there was no water, and the heat pack itself.

hope that helps a bit, and hopefully someone can chime in with more info

Its nice of the guys at the store to inject oxygen into your bags,I know of a place that will do that for me but they are at the opposite end of the city from where I would be shipping the fish so thats a nice hike.I never bothered with bag buddies or any similar product. The heatpacks are good idea because the temps have been a little on the cool side but 146 degrees from a pack would concern me.
