Can I keep a pair of red tail barracuda together or do they need to be kept in high schools? I can get 2 of them right now but they are 40 dollars a piece, I can realistically go only get 2. From my saltwater experience if you add them together, your chance of success goes up. They will be added together! Or are they ok singly?

Can keep 2 without problems. Add some plants to reduce stress. Slowly acclimate.

Won't get the black spot behind the gill palte like a red tail.

Keep in mind the sale is for a red tail cuda and the pic is just not correct.

That is true. Most online stores do that.

Hi kno4te kno4te I just got off the phone with Aquascape because I am curious and I really want red tail cudas although I'd have no problem with a yellow, they just don't look as cool as a red.
So here's the deal. He said there are about 4 to 5 in the tank with a black spot and the others don't have them. He said they are from Peru and believes that they may darken up as they mature. Is it safe to assume that the ones with the black spots are reds and the ones with out are yellows?

The ones with black are likely red and the others could be yellow.
