2 RENA XP3s or XP3 + AC110?

Hi fellow MFKers,

Currently running a 60gallon acrylic tank with a Rena XP3 canister.

I feel like its not quite enough filtration so what would be better?

2 Rena XP3s or a XP3 + AC110?

Any suggestions or past experiences with these particular setups?

It's only a 60g, do you have big fish in there? 1 xp3 and some weekly water changes should do it, put a power head with a sponge filter in there. Good luck

I ran a XP3 and Emporer 400 on a heavily stocked 75 gallon for ages. Used the XP3 with a prefilter sponge on the intake for bio, and the Emp with washable filter pads for mechanical. I hated cleaning the canister, so I pre-filtered it, rinsed the sponge out every 1-2 weeks, and the canister itself every 3-6 months. It's much easier to clean a HOB filter pad, and I prefer the Emp 400 over the AC110.

Gotta go with the hob also, on a tank that size ,2 cans is gonna be a lot of work for the return on investment

Thanks for all the input but i realized the AC110 might not fit on the acrylic tank .

Cost and performance wise i would love to add a AC110.

why wont it fit?
I have a 110 on my very old glass 1/2 inch 125 and it fits fine.
