So...... I went out and got a 2" RTC for my friend and i have him in a 16g tank while my buddy sets up his 300g tank for him. the story begins with me picking him up at my LFS and he looked a bit messed up. so i asked and they told me that the other fish that were in there ate his wiskers and fins over night. so i picked him up and put him in my 16g and he ate like a little monster! lol! well a few days have passed and i have noticed that his left wisker is growing fine while the other is growing split! like a "Y".............

Is there anything i can do about this....
What causes this....

PH lvl = norm
amonia lvl = norm
water changes: 10% - 25% weekley

P.S. he eats and acts normal with lots of energy!

its normal
sometimes when a whisker is broken they tend to grow back and some of 'em have splits like the one u describe

It will turn out normal. Keep temp at 86 degrees to provent ich.

What a pile of brown stuff -

firstly - if its split - it will stay split !! - if you don't want it split - cut it off and it'll regrow - normally normal -

86 degrees - we're not trying to cook the fish - 76 - 80 is fine - at the higher temps you've got more chance of the fish suffering from stress related illness -

what change policy sounds good.

good luck

No, dont cut it off!

Just leave it alone, dont cut it or anything because it doesnt look good to you. The only thing you should be concerned about is bacterial infections if the fish has wounds. So be more worried about that.
