Hello everyone!

I am going to start fresh on my 90 and my 150. I want each tank to house a single pair of Parachromis.

I really want P. Motaguense RTM and P. loeisellei 'panama'.

My 90 gallon is a standard 4 ft tank and my 150 is a 6 ft tank.

My questions:

1. Is my 90 even big enough to house a pair without a divider for life? If so, which of the 2 would be better for it?

2. What should go in the 150?

3. What dithers can I use? I want to do a root tangle in each tank on an end with smaller convicts as dithers.

4. What type of aquascape should I set up? I like keeping things as close to biotope correct as possible.

5. How many of each should I buy to grow them out.

Thanks all!

Loisellei in the 90 motoguense in the 150. I started with 6 loisellei to get my pair and got 2 pairs out of 10 motoguense. I would just do natural gravel and some large stones with the tree roots. Never used dithers so i cant speak on that one.

Thank you Sharptoothbass! Can the loeisellei's lve for life in the 90?

I agree I think the panama can live for life. With good water condition, healthy diet, etc. Some may say no I am pretty sure you are aware of that. Keep us updated on the project. Would love to see how this works out and your RTM project. Good Luck

90 should be fine for both. I kept a huge pair of motaguense in a 150 alone and it was kind of a waste they stayed in one area and didn't even really patrol the whole tank. I put the motas in a 75g and they really enjoyed it more alone. If you do it, go with the motas and about 4 silver dollars or so...that will give them something to chase...the loisellei will be fine in a 90...I have sp. Panama growing out now in a 40b the male is 4-5" and female about 3-4".
