2 test kit, 2 different results --"

I have the Nutrafin test kit, it has been 2 weeks that it shows that I have high nitrate. So since then I did lots of water changer 2-3 days, and added NITRA-ZORB in my filter. My Tap water does not have Nitrate accordng to this test. After a week or so, no results, still high nitrate.

I went out an tried my brother's kit. API MASTER KIT.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND it says that I dont have any nitrate.

Oh and I did tried again with nutrafin right after, and still high nitrate.

Has anyone ever had this issue with Nutrafin ?

How high is high? I haven't used the Nutrafin Nitrate kit before. I use the API nitrate. A reading of zero sounds like something wasn't mixed right. Be sure to follow the API directions to the letter.

Its kinda hard to get an accurate read with Nutrafin, its like pink - more pink - darker pink- pink from the dark side. So innacurate.
Api is more accurate. the result was a nice yellow, I'll do another one tonight. If I remeber I added 10 drops of bottle #1 + 10 drops of bottle #2. then waited.
With the Nitrazorb couldn't I have a 0 reading ?

APi instructions on internet :

Vigorously shake the Nitrate Test
Solution Bottle # 2 for at least 30
seconds. This step is extremely
important to insure accuracy of test
results.
