well.....im going away for 2 weeks and wont be home to feed my fish so i bought those 2 week slow release feeder things.. i would ask a neighbor or nearby family member but i dont want to bother them and i dont trust my neighbors all too well.. luckily i only have a couple of not too rare fish.. not rare at all. but if you can help like telling me if those things work .. i have 2 sharks, a pleco , a betta , and 3 emerald cory's.

ive never used those but i have used the automatic feeders that will feed them once or twice a day, i like those cuz you can put whatever food (flakes or pellets or freeze dried) in them

i think they have them at walmart they are like 10 or 15 bucks. or at a petstore. they run off AA batteries. they usually last a month at least depends on how often u feed them. there is also plug in types id assume. id also suggest feeding very little while your gone because you wont be around to do water changes and such. put a mixture of food in it. flakes, sinking pellets, etc. depending on what kind of fish. i dont like the "weekend feeders" or whatever. ive never used them personally but i just wouldn't like the idea of my fish nibbling on what looks like a chlorine tablet while im away. good luck.

I'm lucky my mother in law is wonderful! even feeding the fish that scares the crap out of her!

I'd go for a autofeeder if my mother in law wasn't about. Those blocks of plaster of paris look dangerous.

As already said, go real easy on the amount you put in.

2 weeks?
I'd feed them really good a few times a day, before leaving,
do a good waterchange and vac the bottom.
turn off their light, and don't worry about them till you get back...

When fish spawn they will quit eating on their own, for a lot longer than 2 weeks
My Jags have fasted on their own, for 6weeks+ no matter what I tried to feed them...

I thought there was something wrong and they were going to starve to death,
nope! just fine. Matter of fact they are on a fast right now, with this new spawn...
