my arowana is about 2 years old and has never been introduced to live food...if i throw in gold fish you think he will go for it?

If he's hungry he will lol....

Doesn't matter how it was raised. Instinct will tell the aro that things that are smaller than its' mouth will be food items. The only way it could be deterred completely from eating feeders is through negative-conditioning type pavlovian responses. ('pain if touched' response, etc)

100% it'll work. its fish natural instinct, that anything that fits in its mouth is considered to be foOd.. so definetly it'll work specially when r arowana is huge., by d way wats d size of ur arowana??

ABSOLUTELY! You throw in anything alive (fish or otherwise), if its small enough to eat, its dinner. You got to remember, most fish LOVE seafood, and there aint no SKIPPERS fish and chips down in the water

It will definitely go for it. It's probably wondering why you havent sent any feeders his way in 2 yrs.

If it does not, you have one arowana with a very unique eating way on your hands.
I have never seen or heard of a hungry and healthy arowana turn down any food it can swallow, feeder or not.

Get that guy a snack to chase!
