so heres the situation... the other day i went to go feed my american/malawi (yeah i know) tank and noticed that 1 of the yl/ey is holding so i toss her in a 10 gal. all to herself. now i go and feed my cichlids this afternoon and the other yl/ey is holding too!:nilly: the trip is, i thought i had 1 male and 1 female... WRONG! :nilly: the other trip is that i saw the second yl/ey and the orange zebra shaking/vibrating together while holding! is it possible? so i guess ill have to wait and see who the dad is with both girls!... man, how are the babys gonna look like!

could be hybrids,How long have you had them?
eggs usually hatch about 10 days she could hold them a long as 5 weeks!

yeah, i was doing some research just now and the articles said the same thing! ive had them since march. a friend of mine didnt want them and gave them to me. i say theyre both around 4". should i put the new mom in with the other mom in the 10 gal. or is that a bad idea?

In the 10g the 2 females would probably fight.Wait till youre sure its been 10 days strip them both into the 10g then return them to the main tank.

Only do this if you are planning on keeping them dont sell hybrid mbuna, could get you into a fight some guys are really serious about this.

I've seen zebra/lab hybrids, and their not bad looking. One mature male was dark yellow, and had blue fins with black stripes. He was also sterile, and so nasty that he would kill all other fish except he's favorite female (who was a pure bred zebra).

I'm going to sell mine. If they don't like it, they don't have to buy them.

If you're up front about them being hybrids, I don't see a problem with selling them.

Who knows, they could be the next Flowerhorn.
