20” Female African Zebra Shark (Stegostoma tigrinum) WYSIWYG-EXPERT ONLY

The zebra shark, or Indonesian leopard shark, is a tropical, warm water indo-pacific species of shark that is generally peaceful and slow moving. There is truly no other species as majestic.

This specimen never fails to take the spotlight and infatuates nearly every person who gets to see her in person. Her contrasting colors are visually striking and her tail glides gracefully through the current.

She is very hardy and well acclimated to captivity, but prefers the following water parameters:

Water Temperature: 78-82°F
Salinity/Sg: 35ppt (1.025)
Ph: 8.2
dKh: 10
NO3: 1-5 ppm
NO2: 0 ppm
NH3: 0 ppm

She seems to enjoy low to medium lighting. Ensure you have a secure and fastened lid on top of your tank as she does enjoy “glass surfing”.

She enthusiastically eats chopped and rinsed raw squid, chopped and deveined raw shrimp with tail removed, chopped raw whiting, chopped raw mackerel, and whole smelt. It is highly encouraged you offer her a highly mixed diet as she is currently offered and that her food is proportionally supplemented with trace elements/shark and ray vitamins.

She is loaded with personality and is an absolute masterpiece addition for the expert-level keeper’s extra large aquarium (thousands of gallons). She is growing rapidly and will keep growing at an accelerated rate until she is nearly 5-6 ft in length (likely within a few years). With that being said, her permanent home must already be in place, as opposed to plans to upgrade her dedicated system at a later time. This is the perfect shark for the most serious of showpiece collectors. While we have zebra sharks in display with our other reef fish, we do not guarantee them to be reef safe and will absolutely consume invertebrates and your clean up crew. Some fish like heniochus butterflyfish (bannerfish) have been known to nip at the eyes of resting zebra sharks, so tank mates must be considered carefully. It is highly recommend you take time to review the Elasmobranch Husbandry Manual: Captive Care of Sharks, Rays, and their Relatives. This literature is available free digitally online.

She will be shipped overnight, and we will coordinate this with you around weather and schedules to ensure her safe and sound delivery. We have DOA guarantee, but you must follow our requirements or risk voiding for DOA guarantee. If you receive your specimen DOA then it will either be replaced or you will be fully refunded. You must provide evidence that the box was untampered with and the specimen was DOA upon opening the box as well. While we vet potential customers the best we can, proper acclimation and marine husbandry is the responsibility of the collector. Therefore, the DOA guarantee will ensure she arrives to you in healthy condition, but does not extend any further beyond that. In the event of DOA it must be reported immediately, and you must freeze the specimen in case verification is needed. Failing to provide a notification of DOA within 1 hour of arrival will void the transaction’s DOA guarantee.

Door-to-door delivery can be coordinated at an additional cost.

We are hobbyists and collectors just like you who decided to import this beautiful girl from Kenya, South Africa. We have over 15 plus years of combined fish keeping experience and always prioritize the health of our animals. For this reason, all serious potential buyers must be properly vetted. We will
kindly ask you to share details of your tank dimensions, life support system, and feasibility. It is critical to us that this zebra shark only goes to the best of homes. We appreciate your understanding.

So your “African zebra shark” is from Indonesia?
Sounds a bit fishy to me 🤷🏻‍♂️
They are wide spread geographically, is an Indo-pacific species, no one said it is from Indonesia. This Zebra Shark is from Kenya Africa. Nothing fishy about it, I have all the necessary paperwork. Just because it is a rare specimen doesn’t make it less legitimate.
May you have any other questions feel free to ask, but don’t come assuming if you don’t know what you are talking about. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.
I see you have a FB page. So you’re a retailer. There are regulations that govern the sale of livestock and goods on this site, such as listing a price, and having approved vendor status if you are a retailer.
If you knew anything about this community, you would know that. You joined yesterday, and are selling today. Your ad is not even in the correct subsection of the forum.
MFK does not exist simply to provide a free platform for retailers to access hobbyists as potential customers.
As a retailer you are not allowed to join simply to use the community space as place to sell your livestock, unless you have vendor status.
If you wish to do so you have to apply for vendor status. There’s a process!

Obviously the site costs money to run. Vendors fees enable the site run & upgrade as necessary. It’s a 2-way street. Vendors get access to customers, funds from vendors assist in keeping the site going.
There is a link on this thread to apply for vendor status if you wish to do so 🤙🏼

It’s no inconvenience. I’m sorry if I came off as rude. I did rethink my comment then deleted it. It’s just that there’s SO many scam threads and scammers, in addition to people that just wanna use the platform to sell and not participate community life, peeps out there these days simply tryna make a buck, that when someone new shows up just to sell stuff it hits me wrong. No harm no foul. My apologies.

It would be great to have you as a vendor if you so choose.

The way the forum works is there’s a 15 minute timeframe during which threads can be edited or deleted. After that timeframe expires only Moderators can edit/delete posts.
