20 g sump for a 115g

Is this possible? Or should I just go with a canister? I have access to a 20 g sump but would it be enough filtration for this size of tank?
I thought sump cause I can hide everything in it, like my heater and no spray bars inside the tank.

a 20G sump, properly configured, will be better than a smaller canister. if you have a 20G canister, they'll be about the same. is that enough filtration for your 115G? perhaps.
as far as the spray bar...
a sump needs water returned to the tank too, and you don't have to run a spray bar on a canister. they also have in-line heaters.
