Hello!

My tank is damn near close to finishing cycling. I have four rummy-nose tetras that are bright red, and a chinese algae eater (unfortunately, it's a nice yellow color =/ opposed to the more natural-colored one that i prefer). I also have a few ghost shrimp.

I have black fluorite substrate with light planting (plan on getting a few more plants), and a couple pieces of drift wood.

The next planned step is to get three-four more rummy nose to complete the
school. What else do you think I should have?

I would like some top/mid dwelling fish. It would also be nice to have some very practical fish (i.e. algae eaters (the ugly yellow one i have), debris-cleaner-uppers (ghost shrimp))
What other plants should I add? I'd like some back ground plants. Elodea?

Your experience and knowledge is welcome!

I would get two more tetras...

With the tetras already in there, i'd get a couple marble hatchet fish (for the top), and maybe a pair of swordtails. the nice thing about swordtails is they come in MANY different colors. so if you want something dramatic you can get red ones, or something more subtle, get the green ones.

Or, you could do a school or cory cats (3-6) insted of the swords...

Bringing your stocking level to
6 rummy tetras
3 hatchets
2 swords/ or 3-6 corys

Anyone....

Hey Junkie,
Thanks a lot for your recommendations!
It's funny, I was JUST looking up some information on cory cats, and was thinking about them.

Gracias :)

I agree, hatchets really look great and fill up that top level of the tank. they are a great schooling community fish

No problem albirdy... if you have any Q's IM me. Also i would go with a pair of red swords, just because of your dark substrate and drift wood. the contrast with the red will look awsome.:)
