20 gall tall or long?

Petco is having the $1/gal sale starting 6/29. I want to buy a 20gal to grow out some cichlids, but I don't if I should buy the tall or long one. Any thoughts?

I'd go with the long, bigger footprint to add more sight breaks. 20gal isnt going to last long for growouts...

If you are growing out cichlids id highly recommend a 40b. 10" isnt much width but if you are going with a 20g always go with footprint over height unless you are growing out tall fish like angels

With Cichlids, length is usually preferred over the height. Cichlids tend to stay towards the mid-lower ranges of the tank.

Im probably gonna grow out one cichlid at a time and then move them to my 125gal.

Of the 2, I'd go with the 20 long...

But I agree with brich999 on the 40breeder: Not only would it be an awesome grow out, its the best deal in the dollar per gallon sale.
