My mom's 20 gallon has a few mollies and platties and is quick on its way to being slightly overstocked. What filter would you reccomend ? It has two aquatech 5-15 right now but they dont have enough bio ability to keep up. Maybe the smallest fluval canister ? Or is there an Eheim canister that size? Or an aquaclear ? :) Suggestions appreciated. Also would an UGF help ?

If you want to stay with aquatech throw a 30-60 on there. i have one on my 20g convict breeder tank and its crystal clear and no bio problems. Allthough the filters tear apart easily when i try to wash them so i have to buy new every few washings. Another good filter is the emperor280 or even the 400. I have both as well and they are great for high bio loads. They have a bio wheel and a extra compartment tray that you can add a micron pad to or some bio-media to.

you could really go with any filter that is rated for 50+ gallons and you're water should be clear.
