Hey guys, i have a 20 gallon in my room right now ready to house some fishes i am having trouble finding the right fishes to put in there...

Any suggestions?

Any cichlids small enough to fit in the 20g?

Thaanks! ive had rams before they are pretty hard to take care of and they are expensive.

Here's a picture of my tank though,

Oh, is there such think as "mini labs?" small african cichlids

anyways, im open to more options for my 20g

right now its Rams. anything else?

Holy Crap ! a 20 gallon has just turned into a 15 gallon, so much gravel, looks cool though

i would suggest some cryptoheros species, look into the following, Honduran Red Points, Nanoleutus ( you could grow out 4 or 5 in the tank and wait for a breeding pair ), myrnae a bunch of other options, guess like firemouth, cutteri, keyholes etc

small cichlids only :)

i'd look into a pair (of trio) of shelldwellers. Multies are good since they are small, but they are also fun to watch and breed

thanks for some good advice guys hmm.

haha nah the gravel just looks high in the front but its pretty much just 1 10 pound back of gravel.

unless spend the money for a proven pair it takes them a while to gain sexual maturity :)

Bolivian rams are easier than GBRs but in my experience if you can find locally or domestically bred rams they are much hardier and not at all difficult to care for as long as their water is clean.
Apistos would work too.

You could slope the gravel towards the back to make it more pleasing to the eye and give a better view of whatever fish you choose.

I'll think more about your possible stock, but I wanted to congratulate you on your recent graduation ("Class of 2008")!

hehe thanks! yaeh i just graduated 2 weeks ago = ]]]

So bolivian rams are hardier than germans: I did not know that, i thought they're the same. I'll go shop around for bolivian rams now.
